Azlong of the Brillant Sky

My current masterpiece! This is a stained glass version of this guy [link] This beast is 24 inches by 28.5 I believe. I spend about $70 in construction fees.

In the near future, I plan to have him framed since his weight distribution isn't the best. (He bows in the top right and bottom left corners). Methinks maybe a nice cherry frame?

This is my single largest panel to date, being larger than Resurrection's Messenger and Tree Guardians combined! I made this as my one extreme attempt at something large scale and detailed. And I believe it came out perfectly! The entire belly has black paint detail, as well as the eyes and the mouth. I will take a better picture when I can becasue I had to use my computer's crap photo editor to brighten the whole thing up.

I used two different reds, one a Kokomo swirly and the other a textured Spectrum glass. I used these alternately to create some depth within the reds and to pull out some details in the face and limbs. This took me about 68 hours to finish throughout the month of September and October, and even the 1st week of November. I would have had it sooner but my other job and schoolwork came first. Otherwise, I would have lived in the studio to finish this!


For those who keep asking, no, it's NOT MUSHU. Disney would sue me for character violation rights! Azlong is a classic Asian style dragon. Red is their primary color, and the blues helped offset the entire thing from being reds and yellows. He's that way in my drawing too XD

I do plan to keep this one, unless someone offers a rather large bribe. I was told to price above/around the 500 dollar range.
